Winter tires are a much bigger differentiator than the specific kind of vehicle. If you care at all about overall safety and driving in the snow you should seriously consider getting some. Ideally on a 2nd set of wheels, which makes swapping easier and cheaper.

If you are trying to check/compare coverage, they resell AT&T service. Should be pretty decent coverage although no cell carrier is perfect. Ask your neighbors if they use AT&T and see what the service is like in your area.

I'm not sure either one is particularly "artsy" or "cultural" but they're both plausible choices based on what you've said. Go take a look.

Unless there is something exceptionally valuable it will probably be easier / cheaper to just demo anything that is attached to the old trailer. Perhaps you could save the porch.

I'm not a lawyer but I don't see how anyone could possibly construe this as a landlord/tenant arrangement. I think you are overcomplicating things with your "eviction". Just put her items in a closet and if/when she wants them back make arrangements.

Did you charge her rent? Did you have a written or verbal lease? I don't see how a family member staying with you short term would be considered a tenant. More likely this is a question about how to deal with abandoned property.

Reply to Any R32 Heat Pump Owners? by metalandmeeples
The best way to compare efficiencies is via the Energy Star ratings. Those tests are done under carefully controlled conditions. Anecdotal remarks from Joe Homeowner are not going to tell you anything since there is no real way to do a perfect comparison due to changes in heating needs from one winter to the next, changes in electric rates, other differences in the exact models, etc.

Reply to comment by Away-Screen2573 in Maybe an odd question, but anyone have suggestions for pet (cat) insurance? by flexingindisguise
Sure but buying pet insurance for the lifetime of a cat (15 years) is $5-10k, plus if you ever need it there are generally copays and coinsurance which could add $thousands more. Exceptionally unlikely that even with several emergencies your out of pocket costs would ever exceed that.
Pet care can be expensive but having insurance doesn't magically make it go away... it just means you pay whether or not you use it. And if you have multiple pets, it's even more certain that pet insurance is a bad bet.

Pet insurance isn't worth it or necessary the same way that health insurance is for people. You are better off just saving up that $300-500 per year that you would spend. There really aren't catastrophic medical expenses for pets that would cause you to spend $20k or something stupid like that.

I have no option about this "same towers" claim but I will say my spouse and I have different carriers and it's extremely common for one of us to have service and the other to have none. (AT&T vs Verizon). I wouldn't say one is better necessarily but they are very different.

There is no cell provider with 100% coverage in the state. Not even 100% coverage in the populated areas. If you are unhappy you might want to ask people who live or work near you what they have.

The lakes and mountains are great but so is the coast and they are VERY different. Especially the boating opportunities. Sailing is a great way to explore the coast if you know someone with a boat.

Not me specifically but I know a lot of Mainers have little or no experience on the ocean. Perhaps they are intimidated by the summer people but it make me sad how many people are missing out on one of the greatest assets of the state.
