I'm old/young enough to have experienced the summer movie program where your parents would pay like some super cheap price for a package of movie tickets. They then took you during the week days of the summer to see movies that were usually a few years old at that point. First theatre was the one on Battlefield where Play it Again Sports is now when I was in elementary school and later it moved to the Palace after that closed when my brother was in elementary school.

Having to pick between 2 developers for that open seat is going to be like picking a giant douche or a turd sandwich.

With how badly the recent development projects have been managed from a communications and public relations standpoint, no matter your position on the developments themselves, it's hard to see how McClure can make any case he should get another term. Time for much of the city council to go for fresh ideas. That's even ignoring the fact he's already been mayor for 6 years and needs to move on for someone new.

Depends if you want to go classy or hillbilly. For hillbilly you have to go with the OG Bass Pro. For classy I would pick one of the historic buildings or the square downtown. The fork if you know the history behind it is kind of cringe to represent Springfield.

Trails aren’t good? What are you smoking? Nature Center is excellent, several good parks with longish trails, Wilson’s creek is now free, just to name a few aside from the nearby state parks.

As someone that lived in KC for years and stills gets back up there very regularly what are you seeing that’s so great and free in downtown KC? P&L is free to get in to but you’re not going to have fun if you don’t spend any money on food and drinks.

College students don’t just move away because Springfield is not ideal to live like a larger city, there’s also a tiny job market and no way we could support large numbers of graduates every year with new jobs.

This may predate you by just a couple of years downtown, but there used to be a nice grocery store in where Seattle Roast is now. It was all wrong trying to be some upscale / organic store since Price Cutter figured that's what downtown residents wanted ala Consentino's in KC downtown. I only shopped there sparingly because prices were so out of whack with a regular grocery store. Ultimately lack of business and you guessed it homeless made it unfeasible to keep it open.

Let's be the real the best lots that are most convenient to where most of the stuff downtown is the private lot that once used to be public and the MSU lot. City wants to start using imminent domain after Hotel of Terror, now is their chance to put it to use downtown. Take the private lot back over.

I always love the city saying "all the free parking lots & garages downtown". They are great and I would use them, but they are clear on the other side of downtown from where a lot of the most popular stuff is on Walnut between Jefferson & South.

Wonders of Wildlife may not be budget friendly for you but is pretty good. Just get tickets to the aquarium side. The rest of it is pretty cringe stuffed dead animals for the owner to show off his BDE hunting prowess.

Make sure you get someone to write your copy and edit it. Those run-ons and grammatical errors hurt my head.
