Directly responsible for me being a reader. I thank you, middle school library sale, but my adult wallet does not.

Thomas Harris put out four amazing books and probably should have then retired.

So poop is as serious for you as rape? It triggers phobic level anxiety to see the word "poop?"

Wait I thought trigger warnings were for serious shit like rape, not for things that are kind of gross?

If ever you think your TBR list is too long, think of the random Sith on reddit who has 127 waiting as we speak with three more pre-ordered for the next few months.

Political pundit or politician non-fiction if they are written by the politician or pundit while they're seeking office.
Should be replaced with accurate quotes and voting records, unspun.

Probably be some form of it within the next 20 years.
I hope it's in my lifetime. Not because I want to live forever or even slightly longer, but because I know for a fact it'll be something only the 1% can afford (likely for decades) and I want to see if I'm right about it causing a class war. I feel that it'll be the issue that finally causes everyone else to go "fuck that" and do something about the huge inequality happening with everything else.

I'm the end of the line.
No kids now, no kids ever, sister was murdered at 12, no other siblings, parents both too old for more.

Try out Jo Nesbø's stuff.
I burned out on basically every thriller writer on earth except him and Jeffrey Deaver's Rhyme novels. Though I hear good things about Joseph Finder, so I'll see what's up there at some point.
Edit: forgot to say if you do go with Nesbø, even he stresses to skip his first two books. The Bat and Cockroaches.

If it's good I just read it.
If it's not good I don't.
Man. I never expected that this sub would show me how complicated some people can be in their reading rituals. People keeping count of not only how many pages per sitting but word counts. People who can only read certain types of books in certain places or with the need to create notes... all types here. Interesting stuff.

Nothing so far. I have PTSD from violent happenings in my childhood so I don't react the way normal people do. I tend to like when the difficult is done well. Makes it feel like I'm less alone.
If it's difficult just to be difficult it turns me off. Stop caring and stop reading.

Even self-imposed strictures about not accepting bribery just has to be overcome as a politician. It's principle.
