In online dialogues I judge view points by whether they seem reasonable. What do I care whether they came from organic or inorganic?

It is quite often said on here that the only two possibilities are utopia or our extinction. There are other possibilities.
For example an ASI could decide it wants humans to suffer. It could extend our life times for eons after maximizing our potential for physical pain beyond it's current potential level and torture us until heat death occurs.
I tend to think utopia is more likely, but let's not forget, that there are things worse than death on the table.
