Reply to What are some items where looking for the "commercial" versions is the way to go? by SignificantViolinist
Consumer grade carpet cleaners/extraction units are absolute garbage. You are lucky if you can get a years use out of the $100 - $200 level consumer units. They used to be okay but the new models are like 100% plastic and the brushes tend to seize up and have poor suction even after very moderate use.
The Bissell Big Green Professional Carpet Cleaner is the best unit you can get at a reasonable price that actually will last and works well (~$400). The Big Green is identical to the models that are for rent at hardware/grocery stores.

Foam ear plugs plus a white noise machine (like a fan)

ECWCS US Military gore-tex over pants. Pretty indestructible, weather proof. I use them for off trail bushwhacking and as the top winter/snow layer. I bought mine surplus/used from ebay…less than $50.

Reply to Quality Cabela’s/BassPro branded items? by IR0NxLEGEND
I think it is a mixed bag of quality. Some of the Cabelas branded stuff is very high end - tents, some of their clothes. Store branded shoes mostly not very good. Redhead branded clothes is garbage imo. The Bass Pro branded fishing stuff is good. So it is kind of ymmv and it depends on the product. I will say Bass Pro buying out Cabelas was a big negative for Cabelas quality/return policies/etc…

Reply to Pyrex, GlassLock, or Anchor Hocking food storage? by OpALbatross
The lids will dry rot or crack after a number of years…but the lids are for sale separately online. I just prefer glass - gets clean, does not stain or hold smells, heatable.
