Xbox unless you want PS exclusives and that Dualsense controller.

I have a PS5 and a PC.

I have a high end PC (7900xt) and a ps5. You’d have to fight me to try to take my ps5 from me.

Sony exclusives are a big deal tho. That, and some games are exclusive to ps5 only (FF XVI as an example). If you don’t care for any of that, then don’t bother.

Xbox is your best bet. Easy to find people to play with and has Age of Empires now on GP.

I spent about $2k on my 5600/7900xt build. Kinda sad I did because most new releases are stutter fests. Anything new has been bought on PS5. 🤷‍♂️

If you thought console afforded you settings toggles on older games, then you were misinformed. Only certain games have been patched for new gen.

You can get the digital ps5 for cheaper. I would keep both and then sell whichever you tend to not use.

Where do your friends play? Plan to play with them?

Games- check out the exclusives on both. Pick your favourite.

If the above don’t matter, then look into GamePass.

Physical is best for preservation. Most games still print the full game on (albeit in a buggy, unpatched state) but it will still allow you access to the game.

Also, games where the license has expired and is removed from store fronts may drive up the value of the disc version.

Yep. I have both of my boxes beside eachother and they are both silent. Only time I hear either is if I have a disc in them.

Nope. Don’t forget that native PS5 games use kraken compression. Typically, games are smaller install sizes on PS5 than Series X. Also, because PS5 uses m.2 nvme SSD, you can buy any off the shelf ssd and install it yourself (needs to match or exceed PS5 specs). Costs have dropped drastically for these making them generally cheaper than the Series X option.

You mentioned PS5 exclusives. If you like what you see, get that.

I personally have both and mainly use the PS5 including for game purchases. I only use Xbox for GP day 1 releases, Halo MP (have the Halo Series X) and fps boosted games.

PS5 also has the Dualsense which has been absolutely amazing. Returnal is a game that is a treat on the system and is available on the PS Plus sub along with other exclusives.
