I did that the last time we went to the hospital for the birth of our third child. They looked at me like I was an idiot but they complied. They told me that parking at the hospital was 3€ per day and that the coffee vending machine is 2 to 3.5€ per coffee.

No it’s not. If it would, there would be no crime at all. If I truly want to do something, I’ll do it, no matter what. If the only thing stopping you from doing something is the expected punishment, then there’s something inherently wrong with that system.

There’s a difference between “I would like to kill someone, but if I’m caught I’ll go to jail, therefore I won’t do it” and “I see no reason for killing someone. It’s wrong and immoral and I have no desire to do it.”

They are not. In civilized countries all power lines are run underground.

But the short answer is that it’s cheaper to run them above ground. Sure, it’s more dangerous and hazardous but saving money is more important than saving lives or having nice, neat and tidy cities.
