Most suits are made of wool which is already quite durable.

I've got 50+ year old snips of unknown origin that are just as good as a new pair. I think the design requirements of tin snips makes them quite durable if the hinge mechanism doesn't get too sloppy.

I've met people who use these for caving. They don't last any longer than other boots when subjected to such high abuse as caving.

Buy them from somewhere with a trustworthy supply chain, even if you have to pay more.
