If you have to be in your new job 9-5, 5x week, this is a LOT of long days. If you're able to flex any of your time and perhaps work on the train on a laptop or otherwise remotely, this becomes a lot more feasible because you can combine working and commuting.

Is a train less reliable than a car in bad weather?

"resident amenity"

OMG. I am 100% in favor of all the housing everywhere all the time -- but not here. From Shurs to Ridge there's almost nothing left but empty lots and sad damaged buildings because it all floods! Regularly! It took MONTHS to clean up after 2022 flooding! Does each unit come with a kayak and a window-attachable launch?

It's public access for bikes and pedestrians. I use it all the time - great access to the cemetery!

I have started taking pictures of people doing this. It makes my blood boil

All of them. It's why I ride a bike.
I would also like to add The Francisville Triangle. I swear there are 1000 ways in and 0 ways out.

Also check out riskfactor.org. it will tell you a lot about your risk of flood because of subtle topography, old water sources, and more.

Not to be scary but most sex offenders are not on a registry. How do you protect them from unregistered offenders?
BlondeOnBicycle t1_j395m31 wrote
You already live near sex offenders. You just don't have to know it.
Another state, but the youth soccer coach who was my neighbor as a child sexually abused me and it never went to court. So I lived next to an UNregistered sex offender for years, and all those kids he coached were coached by a pedophile with no requirement to disclose. A tiny fraction (like 1%) of sexual crimes go to court and result in a conviction (less than 1%) that requires registering as a sex offender. Basic math says 99% of sex offenders are wandering free without being on any list.
These laws are important but let people lose the forest for the trees.

Huh. I used to commute via Amtrak multiple times a month and was once 20 minutes late. The folks who drove similar distances were late much more frequently. One was 3 hours late.
