My probably out of date understanding is that goto ignores stack management. Stack allocated in the current context would remain allocated wherever the goto ends up. Done repeatedly this will lead to a stack overflow.

They’re talking about the record cost/science ratio.

Reply to What is this generations movie that people love but don't understand? (eg Fight Club, Boondock Saints) by enalios
I know a lot of people who like boondock saints. I don’t know anyone who thought they related to the characters. I would liken it more to entertaining a fantasy, like being Aragorn, or Tony Soprano. Were there seriously edge lords out there thinking they were going to wipe out the mafia?

To clarify: Plato heard it from Solon. Solon is well regarded as a key figure in Ancient Philosophy. And it was well within his capabilities at the time to travel to Egypt to visit with the priest at Sais. Interestingly, Sais is also claimed as the place Paris and Helen eloped to, but were sent home, the Egyptians realising the problems they were bringing with them.

I would say the Critias comes across as allegory with regards to Atlantis, describing something like a Utopia. The Timaeus is more matter of fact, describing key historical point passed down through Solon.

It’s not ‘The Trapdoor’ you’re thinking of is it?

What about directly driving the prop, mechanically?

Would be interesting to see a comparison across all wind conditions. And the installation/maintenance costs would also make for an interesting comparison

Why not just a wind turbine direct to an auxiliary electric motor/prop, then the wind direction doesn’t matter
