The difference between meth and adderall/vyvanse/Ritalin is like the difference between codeine cough syrup and heroin. They ultimately tickle the same part of your brain but just wildly different strength levels

Reply to Extremly Unrealistic Fantasy MBTA Subway map. The Silver Line is converted into light rail. Let me know what your favorite part of the map is and what I missed. by Wide_right_yes
Pretty good. Although I think your subway lines go too far away from the city. Foxboro, Brockton, Framingham, basically anything outside 128/95 would be better served by high frequency commuter rail with local/express service. I agree with converting the Green Line D branch to an extension of the blue line via a new tunnel past Charles/MGH through the back bay, although I wouldn’t extend it past riverside. I’m also surprised you didn’t restore the A branch to Watertown.

Agreed, but even from a capitalist/center-right perspective, incentivizing business investment in these areas would make a difference as well. NJ has special economic zones with reduced sales and business taxes and that’s taken a bite out of poverty there

Reply to comment by russianteadrinker in Wu wants to cut fares at Boston’s commuter rail stations. Is that really a good idea? (NO PAYWALL) by GlobeOpinion
Because there’s a $4 surcharge for getting off at a Zone 1A station. Eliminating that would be a good step forward

Extend the orange line north to reading and south/west to Needham!

They shut down the Tobin bridge whenever they come in so that some terrorist can’t blow up the bridge with the ship underneath it

Nah, that’s Boston express, which is a private bus line that’s run by Concord Coach. I’m talking about Logan Express, which is run by MassPort from Woburn, Framingham, Braintree, Peabody, and Back Bay. If you’re coming from north of Boston, I’d recommend Woburn as it’s right at the junction of 93 and 95

The problem with firm payment barriers is that they are also firm barriers to escaping in the event of a fire or violent incident. They’re easy to get through on purpose.

It shares tracks with commuter trains for basically its whole route. There’s MBTA, CTRail, Metro-North, NJ Transit, SEPTA, MARC, and VRE.
