Read it in 1981. It was unique, disturbing, erotic, violent, and I literally recalled one of its scenes last week.

Yeah, I read that one. DEFINITELY not her best.
Also? "A Tangled Web" which had a lot I found interesting because it was written post-WWI? Ends with a character using the N-word in reference to a figurine. YIKES.

I sent a handwritten note to a first-time author to tell her how much I enjoyed her book, and she sent me back a very sweet, appreciative letter. She had contact info for snail mail on her website.
