There’s an annual charity swim that starts and ends at that dock- during the summer it’s probably fine

Reply to This fight near Shawmut Station doesn’t bode well for easing Boston’s housing shortage - The Boston Globe by soxandpatriots1
I can’t believe tearing down an unused auto body shop on top of a T station and replacing it with housing will destroy character…
The neighbors want to preserve a “pedestrian friendly environment” by… vehemently opposing high density housing? Things need to look “more home like”- because single family homes are the only type of home…
That’s a damn high parking ratio for being- again- directly on top of a heavy rail station, and people are still complaining about parking??

As someone who is very easily annoyed by restaurants blasting music, I was excited to see this! Anyone have any recommendations on spots the Globe missed?

That’s a pretty heavily foot trafficked area… multiple people in wheelchairs or using walkers or strollers having to navigate around that in the span of a few hours is somewhere between plausible and likely.

Reply to Any interesting Boston-based food items I can purchase and send as Christmas gifts? by mom_with_an_attitude
Red Apple Farm does gift baskets of items made on their… well, farm. Curds & Co has a New England based cheese box you can send. Taza chocolate is based in Somerville and has gift boxes. Local beer and booze is cool if that’s up your recipient’s alley. As someone previously mentioned, Mike’s does in fact ship! If all else fails… a few of the seafood shacks ship live lobster.

Yes, and everyone should write to their elected officials letting them know this. While you’re at it, write to your councilors letting them know you’re in support of municipal broadband :)

We don’t, shared triple decker. I’m in the wicked early planning phases of it and need to come up with some pitches of how it could work.

It blows my mind that paying $2-$10 for garage parking at a station is a dealbreaker for people.
