When schools opened back up, you had often entire classrooms full of students and their teachers who would contract COVID and needed to be quarantined. Did school closures impact learning? Absolutely. But so did having schools open when 57% of the students and staff were out with COVID.

I don't own a car. If not for the Metro (and MetroBus), I'd be driving almost daily. Even more likely, I wouldn't be living in DC as decent public transportation was toward the top of my list when deciding to move to a new city.
