How much are you looking to spend? If your budget gets close to the price of a Steam Deck, why not just get one.

The Razer Edge may be another new option that also has built in controls (though I think I’ve only seen one review and while positive, it may have been a free device or sponsored).

Syracuse averages about 10 feet of snow each winter. It's uncommon to be over 50F from November until about April and there are usually a few weeks that are under 10F and days under 0F. Recruiting players to come experience that weather if they're from a part of the country that doesn't really get winter can't be an easy sell.

The picture shows 110 packs rather than the 90 the product page lists.

After the initial flood of posts where no one got anything good, there have suddenly been quite a few more posts with some decent switches. Is the secret with NK mystery switches to wait and order after a week or two if they're still up?

The Gateron G Pro that come on the Q8 are actually pretty decent. The amount that Keychron charges to get switches and keycaps compared to barebones isn't that much. Get the G Pro Reds and see what you think. You'll have a set of keycaps that show the stock key mappings as well then. If you want to try tactile switches, you could always add on G Pro Browns for about $20-$25 if you're ordering from Keychron.

Mine arrived this week as well. Does yours also have issues with keycaps rubbing against the plate and clearance around the keycaps making removing them quite difficult?

Mine was far worse with rubbing keycaps with Box Jades than the Drop Halo Clear (or Halo True not sure) switches I swapped to next. I have Gateron G Pro Red (the Halo sounded awful in it) that are about the same as the Halo for keycap rubbing.

I got Skiidata as my MT3 set, so that was nice and just about worth the price alone. My other set was the grey on black that's default for all Drop boards. I have an Alt, Shift, and Ctrl, it's random but was still disappointing as I literally have three sets already I don't use. Box whites for the switches, I like them, but already had a bunch from my Ctrl board (swapped to Box Pink). The deskmat is a nice size, but it's Marvel.

I'll likely not get another mystery box. I'd rather just get MT3 bogo sets or wait for another deal on a GMK set like Laser that I got Black Friday for $49.

Reply to comment by _matty- in Keychron V1 brown or red by Syrox3105

Keychron charges $10 or $20 extra for a built board compared to barebones. If someone doesn’t know preference, getting built and buying extra switches or keycaps if wanted is cheaper since it’ll function out of the box too. Keychron’s default keycaps also have legends for what the default mapping will be. There aren’t many switches worth buying you can get for the upcharge amount, and you get keycaps too.
