I can identify. I lived in Edmonton when I was young, and the snow would pile up pretty deep each winter, which I assumed was totally normal. That's why once I learned it wasn't normal, I moved to Arizona!

Where was that? I grew up in western Canada and didn't know anyone who spoke French, despite it being on almost everything.

I had a beard for many years, but it started turning grey (only the beard, not the hair on my head). The color change was not at all symmetrical, so I shaved it off, and now I look 10 years younger.

My first PC was a Zenith Data Systems 8088. It could run MS-DOS, and it has a built-in double 5.25" floppy drive.

This is certainly yet another sign of the end of the golden age of television. We're drifting back to a world where everything is consolidated into a handful of corporate entities (not too unlike the big 3 networks), and where drone-like execs make all the decisions and override anything not mainstream enough.

They had similar labels on everything when I was in Mexico a few weeks ago. But interestingly there were also pretty much no 'diet' soda options there.

I felt the same way about the first Avatar movie. It seemed like it had been written by a 13 year old boy, but it looked amazing. I've had no desire or intention to see the 2nd one.
