I love Christmas & all the lights, so this is not a complaint, but a question.

I’ve noticed this past few days people turning their Christmas lights back on (after they had been off for a while). Is this a VT tradition I am not aware of (moved here 2 years ago)? Does it correlate with the snow days? Is this some secret code I shouldn’t be asking about?

I don't think of them as christmas lights, more like decorative lights. It looks nice when it snows and they're on. So sometimes I plug them in when I feel like it.

I also have white "christmas lights" as decorations on my porch in the summer, so maybe I'm just a fan of sparkly things.

Probably completely random, or possibly the fresh snow is giving everyone Vermont winter feels. But sadly there isn’t a Christmas light conspiracy that you are missing out on

Edit: it just occurred to me that we’ve had more sun in the last couple days than we have had all month. I wonder if all the lights you’re seeing are solar charged ones that are finally getting enough sun

My Christmas lights are on the same GFCI circuit as all my animal heated water buckets and stock tank heater. If the Christmas lights ever go off, I know I need to do some investigating.

Mine are tied to the underground fence for my dogs. It’s a visual… so mine are on year round :).

Now that we have 3 kids under 3, the chances of us taking the lights down are slim. May as well make use of them!

I don't keep colored lights up, but I do keep the white icicle style lights up that are wrapped around my roof up year round. I only unplug them when Spring comes.

It just helps with the winter gloom, especially when you've had a long day and come home after dark.
