Looks like, uhh, the vehicle battery spontaneously disconnected itself for like 10 minutes. Really weird.

Why redesign? This is standard on many cars. This is like the postal vehicle bs all over again. Don reinvent the wheel. Take a Prius and modify the back a bit. Done. Maybe some suspension. Just nuts this waste for politicians, cops, whatever.

Lol could you imagine if police were forced to use a hybrid vehicle the blowback that would cause?!

A lot of the Ford escape interceptors are hybrid now.

Fun Fact
They have to program in an acceleration curve on EVs since they are capable of “instant torque”
https://www.carthrottle.com/post/how-do-electric-vehicles-produce-instant-torque/
Modify or take out that curve and you have a car with truly insane acceleration

Remove the off switch. Store the video on a server that no police officer has access to or knowledge of those that manage it. You can't trust these police types.

Yeah, but none of those cameras automatically turn off when a police officer is violating someone’s rights…
MegaIlluminati t1_j5vm9yy wrote
Why bother? The footage is gonna get corrupted anyways when needed.
Melodic-Chemist-381 t1_j5vel54 wrote
Why? They’re just going to turn them off. This is a waste of money considering the level of corruption they have.

That’ll solve it. More money on more cameras that turn off. Great

I like the bright green instead of dark blues and black. Public safety vehicles should be high visibility. Same with the actual uniforms. I think it should be like a high vis blue for cops since they’re already historically blue but anything is better than nothing and green isn’t already taken by another service so that’s fine.

Why are the cars so large? Wouldn’t a smaller vehicle be more prudent for a highly urbanized place like New York?
