Idk, I think a lot of the complaints about social media is that its replace normal social interaction and increased siloing. Social media can be useful socially when evaluated in a vacuum, for example if you live in the middle of nowhere in rural Alaska social media is probably helpful. But it shouldn't be treated as a replacement for actual social contact, I think one of the bigger issues is the teens and children lack social outlets and become heavily reliant on social media for their main socialization. The point being getting rid or limiting of social media for young people isn't the main answer its should be more focused on providing options to replace or supplement the socialization factor social media provides.
