Always good to see these awards going to living astronauts.

My boy!!! Doug Hurley went to my alma mater, I got to hang out with him for a bit senior year. Great dude, super laid back. Huge Pink Floyd fan

I know this is wrong, but is he the one who cut his head entering the ISS, while everyone else was getting ready for a picture. Or was that someone else?

Why is it getting awarded by Kamala Harris? Previous Congressional Space Medal of Honor recipients received the award from the President, not the Vice President.

I guess it's because the US VP is the Chair of the National Space Council. I'm guessing they want to compartmentalize and keep having the VP being the WH's lead for Space Activities.

Congratulations. These awards are the highest to receive, no matter who delivers it to recipient. IMO

I got to meet Bob and Doug after their flight on DM-1 when I worked at SpaceX. I helped build the capsule they flew in and have a piece of the reentry parachute at home. Awesome guys

Their flight to the ISS felt like a historical moment. Not only that, it all went so well as if they were showing off how calm and collected they were on a Sunday afternoon.

Hey, why not give a medal to the creator of this great space ship??
ImaManCheetah t1_j6ouxwu wrote
absolutely there were a lot of people involved, but only two of them put their lives at risk flying on a brand new spacecraft.

I think it was a team, is there a specific designer you'd like to see recognized like maybe the engineer John Federspiel?

Thanks, youre right, a team effort. I dont think it is helpful to break up the team and elevate one of their people. Just leave it as is.
