I'm not an artist but I did find myself reading and re-watching Bicentennial Man and got me to thinking that an AI that can take an input and produce an output doesn't constitute art to me. Hell, it's not art even when a person sketches and traces over another piece of art and adds in additional details or uses photoshop to quickly edit an exist photo.

When it can make art without any prompting on it's own I'll consider it art.

Humans can't make art without any prompting. Even Michelangelo if he had never seen a drawing or a sculpture or anything from nature could not produce art.

All artists are influence by other art. AI artists will get much better over the next ten years where is will be impossible to tell if the art was produced by an AI or a human.

If I show you a drawing, painting, sculpture whatever... and you think it's art, it's art.

Otherwise what you are saying is we can't decide if something is art until we know if it comes from a meat brain or a chip brain?

If it decided to make a crayon doodle of a flower of its own volition because it wanted to i would consider it art.

You can code it that way, just as we are coded. It's the same man.
