Where can i get a full sized seasoned chicken wing? I have a craving. I live near shaler and am willing to drive so it doesn’t need to be delivered. I just dont want to have to drive across town. Any recommendations?

You are SO CLOSE to Sidelines in Millvale, why aren't you there!?

Their wings went downhill BIG TIME. Sauces still great but they’re pigeon sized wing dings anymore such a bummer.

That’s like… everywhere.

Valid point. I bought some at Costco recently, I was genuinely shocked at how big they were. Hadn’t gotten decent sized wangs in a really long time.

I went to Buffalo Wild Wings recently they always had tiny ass wing dings but I was surprised how fucking big they were.

Southside BBQ company had full sized smoked wings. Sauces are good but smoked is different than fried.

Head down Saxonburg Blvd to West Deer. Deer lakes bowl and lounge has surprisingly good wings. So does JB's.

Might as well just go to Elwoods Pub if you're going to go that far.

What is /r/pittsburgh 's though on the whole vs half wing thing?

I consider the half - either drum, or flat - wings "normal" wings. But I have seen a few places call that style "wing dings", indicating that true wings are both parts, connected. Usually indicated on the menu so you don't order a dozen of their wings and get effectively 24.

Well the drum and flat are part of the leg and wing respectively so they aren’t connected at all. I guess by whole wings people mean with the wing tip still attached, which is usually cut off the flat and reserved for stock since it’s barely edible.

You think the “drum” part of a wing is from the leg???

I thought they were referring to the drumstick. In which case yes that is attached to the thigh. Quartered plenty of chickens before and never bothered separating the flat from the ‘drumette’. Always just thought of them as one and the same.

Check out the wings at Iron Born. The seasoning may be what you’re looking for (they only have one “flavor”).

Birmingham Bridge Tavern. Best in town. Golden Boy or Eric Jr. if you can handle a little heat Eric the Red. Hands down best wing flavor outages western New York

MacKenzie’s Pub in New Kensington has my favorite jumbo seasoned wings by a long shot. I grew up in NK and most wings you find in that area will be full sized/seasoned. It’s amazing. The Pub at 333’s wings kind of remind me of MacKenzie’s so I’ll throw that recommendation out there too since it’s closer to you.

The Breakaway had amazing seasoned Whole Wings before they closed. I am following this post closely as this is my style of wing, and it's not always easy to find a place that has them.

Yeah good call, you’re absolutely right. Really good sweet potato fries too. Nothing can ever seem to stay open in that location.
