Does anyone have a good tip on a good bakery that makes a simple yellow cake with chocolate frosting? I realize it’s probably a lot of them but I’m uh, extremely out of the loop on all aspects of this inquiry

I honestly love grocery store sheet cakes and 9/10 times prefer them to bakery cakes. Especially the ones with the really light, whipped icing.

Don’t laugh- just go to Giant. Their basic cakes are shockingly good.

What area are you in? Most bakeries will have what you described in stock as a blank.

They do great cakes, but they don’t have the cake OP is asking for.

They'll definitely make it if you call ahead and order one. We did it for a birthday one year.

Tiffany's at Market East.

My fam honestly just gets birthday cakes from the grocery store though and they're good: ShopRite, Wegman's, Acme.
