You can see ball drop if you get into times Square on 31st morning (atleast afternoon). Wear an adult diaper and heated jacket 😆

Yup. All those romantic proposals in Times Square you see on tv when the ball drops… all wearing diapers.

You may think you’re being trolled but it’s true. There’s no where for you go to unless you want to lose your place is the sardine can. Shit I’d even bring spare diapers and have someone shield me with a jacket to take them off. It’s better to watch on tv for sure.

The ball drop is honestly better on tv. As mentioned, you need to get there really early in the day and then you can’t leave the metal pen you’re put into for anything - bathroom, eating, drinking, etc. Some years they don’t even let you sit on the ground so you’re standing for 12+ hours. You also can’t bring bags.

The 30th probably won’t be too crowded and parking in queens should be fine. On the 31st yeah you should take public transit to go to time square but it’s a madhouse on NYE. It could be fun to rent a hotel room near the ball drop and watch it from there.

In my opinion, the ball drop is pretty underwhelming. The fireworks by the Statue of Liberty are pretty cool though.

Watch the ball drop while experiencing the temperature drop.

the ball drop is amateur hour, do something different, maybe sign up for the NYRR mid night run, if nothing else, go to central park and watch it, they do fireworks over the lake .

parking in queens is fine i think, do not drive into manhattan and i think the subways will be free at night of the 31st, but check that

Ok so pretty much any New Yorker would rather ride in the empty subway car rather than do time square. That being said, I think it could be fun under the right conditions. Dress warm, don’t drive, don’t be sober and definitely wear your Depends. The don’t be sober rule is crucial to the enjoyment part. Otherwise you’re just a freezing cold tourist with wet underwear.

don't drive to see the ball drop the cops cut the streets off so its best to get there early on a train if you really want to see the ball drop in person
