There is plenty of awful things about him. We don't need to act like he freely joined the Nazis or was a believer. He was forced into the Hitler Youth.

Even if he wasn't, he was 8 when the Nazis seized power, that was the environment he grew up in. There is enough about him that should be critized before you get to his role at the end of the war.
