NJ and political scandals. Name a more iconic duo. It’s been awhile so I guess we were due for one.

Chicago and political scandals?

I’d vote NY being worse than us as well.

Unfortunately NJ is worse.

We have fewer governors in jail
PirateForward8827 t1_itx7lav wrote
True, but that could mean the ones in NJ are better at cover ups.

Why do you think that?

Lived in NJ over 50 years. I've known some politicians, and I've known some people that paid for favors and influence.

Eh “I lived somewhere” isn’t the best evidence because someone could just say that they lived in Illinois for fifty years and it’s worse than NJ. Definitely more people in government actually go to jail in Chicago/IL than they do in NJ so I’d definitely give the edge to them.

That wasn't my only evidence. And the fact that more people in government go to jail in Chicago/IL than NJ isn't persuasive. Just because more get caught and convicted doesn't prove that there is more crime and corruption.

What’s your other non anecdotal evidence? And sure but again you’re just speculating wildly in that case which isn’t particularly useful.

NJ has more governmental units (county, cities, towns, villages, school districts, authorities, etc.) than IL. There is almost no contract granted in NJ, whether it be for construction, legal services, insurance, investment advice, etc. without some payoff or influence peddling.
