Most likely training.

The Coast Guard does occasionally assist with inland rescues in this part of the country, especially when conditions are poor. Those helicopters (Jayhawks) can handle some intense weather and the pilots train in it and for it.

I used to be stationed at the command center in Boston. Air Station Cape Cod covers all of northern NE all the way to Burlington. Youâre right, they do fly in bad weather. One time my dad had a heart attack in northern NH and DART wouldnât fly to rescue him. Meanwhile, the CG had a bird up there doing trainingâŚ

Don't worry, It's just an aerial assault on Mt Washington. It's time they paid their dues from being a tourist trap.

Jayhawk out of air station Cape Cod. As others have said, likely doing training. I think the coasties in Cape Cod are trying to build their overland rescue capabilities.

Iâm from NH, those are often used in winter rescues or deliveries to the weather station up there when the road is impassible. They also do trainings. Theyâre much more resilient against the treacherous conditions at the top of Mt. Washington than other helicopters.
This is the time of year when Everest training mountaineers are in NH summiting Washington to prepare for their trip over to Nepal. May also have something to do with that.

The F-35's over Dover were from Italy, transient aircraft going to training. Landed at PSM and took off the next day.

It actually flew over my house yesterday. I could tell by the sound that it was a Blackhawk, but as it passed overhead I saw the not-Blackhawk paint and lettering.
Pretty cool to see.
