I don't think she deserved for Knives Out either 😭. I do think she was good but nothing that stood out from other performances that year.

It seemed to me the Academy took the public outcry as "proof" the film was noteworthy somehow. Almost in the sense of even if it disgusts you, it's high art for invoking strong emotions. As well as another proof they have a boner for bad and controversial biopics.
