No gender categories suck.
Instead of 4 winners in each acting category, we get only 2. How does this help anybody? this is not inclusivity, this is just dumb

The problem with acting is the number of potential winners. You have usually one director, one screenwriter, one composer and others for a movie and two or more leads and dozens of support making it a lot harder to get an award.
But dividing it based on whatever someone is female or male doesn't feel right. Having two award for leads and two for support with no distinction doesn't work. There is probably simply no good solution. Personally I would simply leave it as it was saying it's tradition and it's allows to double the awards instead of removing it.

Wait, are they only giving out one award for the 10 nominees? I thought they would take the top 2.

No you don’t get a 2nd best actor award. And they would certainly want to avoid the chaos of 2 men potentially winning.

We just need to have a level playing field. If you want more winners you can just give out more prizes. It’s a bs. argument
Gender is a bullshit construct with no actual use.

the GG separate drama from comedy so both winners get a fair chance on the night

Adding a featured actress/actor category makes sense for me. Someone who is only featured in a few scenes.
The supporting acting category is often hacked by having performances that are basically 2nd leads (Christoph Waltz in Django Unchained, Catherine Zeta-Jones in Chicago ect) which truly is unfair to compete against a scene-stealing featured performance.

Separating them by gender is kind of stupid though, it's the same job. If they want more awards they can have more winners

also is this ranked choice? if not you have a winner with potentially 10.1 percent of the vote how the fuck is that a good system lmao
