No
I had it on my car this morning, too. I live on the South Shore
Dust from Oklahoma appears to be partly at fault post in r/Connecticut talking about this
Could it be.... shark poop?
SharkNado
Shartnado
Sorry about that. I sneezed last night
There was a major fire in Braintree that caused the residue.
I had some out in the hinterlands.
I haven’t used my car today, so I’m not sure. But now I’m concerned and afraid to go look.
Also north shore.
Had it on my car this morning. Brown and black, residue with the rain drops on my car. I am near Worcester
We can get western wildfire smoke in our sunsets so I think Ohio is in play….
I live in southern New Hampshire and it’s been raining today, I popped my head outside and it smells normal out there but I don’t think I’m gonna go out there in it.
So my long answer is up here in New Hampshire no because it’s currently raining
People in Connecticut were complaining too
No pic

Feels like a push to scare people to me.
Calling it ash from a two weeks ago train derailment is the scare tactic. It's dust from an OK dust storm two days ago.
I’m talking about all the posts today of people pretending to not know why there is weird rain but also curious enough to post it on Reddit of all places.
This is just a campaign to stir up fear, doubt, and uncertainty - ripens the harvest for exploit.
I completely agree with you!
Everyone’s skin is going to bubble up and fall off now
I think this is the something like the fifth post just like this I’ve seen in the past two days. The conclusion always seems to be it’s because of the Clean Harbor fire.

I just saw this random tt video Not sure if there is any validity to it so please don’t think I am calling this fact, but interesting.
This is bullshit
That’s from Feb 8th
yes it was a projection. as in could be what is going on now. Local news has reported on it, and claims it might be dust from texas causing the soot and smell.
Channel 5 explains likely cause to smell

Whats that smell, CT complains of oily rain
etc etc. Anyways i think its possible, so just be advised.
Please don’t listen to this looney. They think aliens and ghosts are real, and they ban anyone that disagrees with them or argues for scientific evidence. They’re also in an active Reddit admin investigation for mod abuse.
Is it from the toxic cloud from Ohio?
No. That can't travel this far.
Edit, as stated, this was a model from the time of the event. Ive seen 1-2 others that looked similar, but nothing yet difintieively saying where the plume went.

So not to panic but noaa forecasted the Ohio train chemicals to come this way
This is from 9 days ago.
Was in CT and western mass too. It's from ohio
You're being foolish.
Hard stop.
Explain how this has happened across western ma, ct and the rest of ma as well.
Okay, so it came from Texas or Oklahoma, but not Ohio. Got it.
Or, much more likely it was a much more local chemical disaster even more recently.
I doubt it, the timing doesn't make sense with my observations. Our car was getting progressively more dirty over the course of the week, then I got a carwash at 7 pm Thursday. Our car was still clean on Friday.
I can't find a more precise start for the Braintree fire than "late Thursday" or "Thursday night", but it wouldn't have made sense for any residue to get from Braintree to Watertown instantly, then stop completely before the fire was extinguished.
Dust makes way more sense.
It came from a chemical waste fire in Braintree.
600 miles is about 6 hours travel time by wind alone. It's foolish to think their isn't a possibility it wouldn't cause air problems or particles falling. It rained last night, that's a condensation nuclei. Chemicals go up, cling to a cloud that starts to precipitate and it falls back down.
If you want to be afraid then that's on you, but the science isn't supporting your very loose argument.
Not really too concerned but to say it isn't a possibility is kinda odd.
It's not just being "said". It's a scientific factuality. You're being irrational to your own detriment.
And to sit on the very unlikely possibility that we're in any danger from it in Massachusetts is fear-mongering.
Sure. Have a good one.
There’s been a lot of talk of it being from the Ohio train disaster
That's because a lot of people are spreading misinformation and fear mongering.
If you google it looks like that went way north of Ma
We are 500 miles away from there. Smoke can travel crazy distances, but if you think residue can travel that far without coming back down to earth, you're a bit crazy.

Yeah. I'm over in Middlesex County and noticed it on my car last night while getting out of work. I think it's pollen triggered by the unseasonably warm temperatures.
