I’m going through things. I tried searching online, and I’m not AA, a victim, or gay. There’s no easily google findable men’s group therapy available. I’m okay to start one. I’m 37, white, not homophobic or racist, went back to college, and the very best therapy I ever found was mandated group therapy for my DUI in Colorado. If you build it they will come. Who wants in? DM me. Let’s set something up. If you’re an alcoholic I’ll not offer you a drink, and if you’re gay but just want to bro down and talk through your issues within a group? Cool. Won’t turn anyone away, just don’t want to mess with insurance or finding shit.

The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance runs regular groups in Essex County: https://dbsanewjersey.org/essex-county/

If you're looking for something more formal, call your local hospital and ask if they have any outpatient behavioral therapy programs. The one I did was at Mountainside Medical Center in Glen Ridge. I was very fortunate that my insurance covered it.

That site shows the various available services for JC mens therapy. I ALSO mentioned alcoholics, and victims, but you honed in on the ‘gay’ stuff. I’m inclusive not exclusive, finding therapy online is very lane specific, Substance abuse/Pride/PTSD stuff are the issues the above site addresses. It does not address the issue I have, and it costs money. If you got issues I got tissues. Do you have something to add? I also said DM me, this could be a private discourse.

LOL. OK, so... I was intending the exact OPPOSITE of what folks apparently think I meant. I found it odd that you mentioned the word "gay" more than once, and made sure to let folks know you weren't gay--as if sexuality was relevant. I took your comments as homophobic. I guess I was the only one.

So, for the record: I'm an LGBQT ally, folks!

Yea, there's an awful lot of mentioning of gay. Weird. And "I won't turn you away if you're gay" Wow, such an honorable white heterosexual man! 🤦

Right? Ok, so I'm not the only one who found this... off-putting.

It also got lumped in with alcoholism or being a victim of trauma, as if it's a problem to overcome. It read as a little off to me, too. I do think it was well-intentioned, but as you can see from the reaction to your comment, good intentions can be misinterpreted.
