The thumbnail. Nathan Fillion was really good in destiny. Best character in the game. Followed very very closely by Lance Reddick.

Same, it's definitely another choice for a lot of the same reasons Kiryu vs Ryuji was.

I'd rather put Shibusawa Vs Kiryu here followed up by Kiryu vs Nishikiyama. The Ryuji fight as a standalone boss battle is epic but Kiwami 2 ending was just too goofy for me with forced plot twists which took away from the overall vibe of the final boss. 0 and Kiwami had more impactful and emotional endings.

Yeah see it's my answer and here is why. The fight gave me chills, the build up, the similarities, the music, the fact that the fight isn't between two guys who hate each other but between two men who see no other way to show their respect to one another, there is no malice in their fight. They both think they are going to die and think this is how they can live their final moments. Ending isn't relevant to me, that moment was the best to me and until Kuwana vs Yagami it was my favorite boss fight for years

I agree, the boss fight and the dynamic between Ryuji and Kiryu is really fascinating, that's why I said as a "standalone" boss fight, it's up there with my favourites.

I liked the Shibusawa boss because he had schemed from the shadows throughout Yakuza 0 and directly or indirectly led to deaths of characters that were dear to Kiryu and Majima, defeating Keiji was the birth of the "Dragon Of Dojima" where Kiryu truly inherited Kazama's creed as a Yakuza and put an end to Shibusawa's script written in blood of innocents.

As for Nishiki, the dynamic between him and Kiryu was being built upon throughout '0'. The bond they had was greater than any blood bonds, they promised to support each other no matter the hardships. That's why Nishiki's descent into madness was even more painful to watch. Nishiki lost Kiryu, the one ally he knew would always cherish him no matter who or what he was which forced him to go down the dark path. Kiryu also lost the innocent man Nishkiyama was before 1995. Those 10 lost years weren't coming back but both of them knew they had put an end to their struggle. It wasn't just a normal battle, it was Nishikiyama's Koi going up against Kiryu's Dragon, each punch carried emotional weight. The flashbacks of the years gone by, that was peak Yakuza for me.

No matter what our preferences are, one thing we can both agree on is that the Yakuza series is a masterpiece. It was good talking to a fellow Yakuza enjoyer, cheers mate.

See I loved those moments too, they're great, Kuze was another one that hit home for me.

My only issue was the way you phrased it felt like you are telling me my answer was wrong, the question was "what gaming moment gave you chills" not "what gaming moment can we all agree on gave you chills that wasn't altered in anyway by the build up or follow up" and while it may not have for you, for me the Kiryu vs Ryuji fight resonated with me on a much deeper level than Kiryu vs Shibusawa, even though it did hit deeply and was amazing. Or vs Nishiki because while I understand your point, in the end he stabbed Kiryu in the back and while emotional, it doesn't resonate with me as deeply as two rivals with no animosity living their final moments doing what they do best. Reason Yagami vs Kuwana takes its place is because I was bullied to near suicide in high school, while I understood Yagami, I really couldn't help but see things from Kuwanas side especially when Yagamis only arguement seemed to boil down to "what about Sawa?!" You know? Even agreed with Kuwana which is why it took the place as my favorite boss fight. But I wouldn't say it gave me chills so much as it made me reflect.

On that note though. Yeah it really is a masterpiece, every single one seems to find something to really touch the heart with. I could make a list of moments like that from just the series alone.

Hope I'm not sounding like a dick because I really do get your point man. I do.

Don't worry mate, your comments are perfectly reasonable. My initial comment wasn't intended to say that my preference is better than yours. Maybe I need to improve my phrasing 😅
