So I played GOW Ragnarok, RE4 and LOU 2 back to back. To say that it was a brilliant few weeks of gaming is truly an understatement. It has transformed me to never want to waste another hour on average games ever again.

From now on it will just be the very best gaming has to offer and just multiplayer games in between the waits.

I seriously never wanna waste another hour of my life on sub par crap like Far Cry, Assassin's Creed or any other below par game.

Next up: Tears of the Kingdom then Diablo 4!

Ok rant over. 🤣

Sounds a lot like my reaction a couple years ago after beating Persona 5 and Nier: Automata back to back. In my case, I was kind of ruined on gaming as a whole for a while after that, they both felt like they were on a different level and everything else would be a letdown. And when I did get back into games, I almost had to go towards the complete opposite, playing either accidentally bad games, "so bad it's good" games like No More Heroes, or just low player effort games like tower defense stuff, Dynasty Warriors, Tony Hawk, Need for Speed, Borderlands, or (ironically) Diablo. Just stuff I could veg out to that was obviously not even aiming to be among the AAA best, so I could avoid the comparisons and just take the games for what they were, usually dumb fun.

It won't just be triple A games. I have a deep appreciation for brilliant indy games. It will include those as well. Games like Cuphead are brilliant and can't be missed. My goal is to just play the absolute best that gaming has to offer.

Life is too short to waste on average games, considering how much time we spend towards them anyway.

I'm basically anti Ubisoft and anything like them

My experience was the opposite. I’m kind of done with overhyped AAA games and find more enjoyment and bang for my buck in hidden indie gems. I still love the occasional big title (RE4 Remake is my personal GOTY at the moment), but I no longer buy into the hype just because a big studio is behind a game. 😅

Of course not. The game has to be a great game. All three which I mentioned have been some of the very best I've ever played, and I've been around since the Atari days.

As far as open world games go RDR2 raised the bar for me astronomically. Haven’t touched a Ubisoft game since AC Origins

I already have an Open World policy in place. I avoid them like the plague. The only ones I'd play are stuff like Zelda or RDR which are brilliant tbh.
