I feel like Philly is to Boston how Boston is to NYC. A very one sided rivalry that one city doesn't really give a shit about.

I kinda agree. I don't really give a shit about Philly, but I care too much about NYC, which doesn't really care too much about us.

As somebody from Boston living in Philly for the past 16 years the answer is all of the Northeast hates each other. It's a special kind of love.

Also, the amount of MA plates I see down here now is absurd.

I feel like I see more plates from further away than I'd expect everywhere these days. I think the pandemic changed something and more people take road trips now (probably due to remote work). I certainly see way more plates from southern states and Texas in MA in the summer months these days than I ever used to.

I was born and raised in Philly and live in Boston in my adult life. Philly just can't take a compliment or a win, they're just so used to being grimmy that when someone says Philly is pretty great their first reaction is "yo that's cause yous suck! Let's get some wooder and a hoe-ghee".

I really like Philly. I'm down in Center City and Rittenhouse square all the time for work.

Last time I was down there I was working and at police station. I was thirsty so I naturally asked if there was a bubbler around. The cop replied to me "are you asking me for a bong kid"

Philly is an underrated city. It's hella cheaper too. It's school system is terrible though, crime / drugs / etc are worse, here in Boston we have some atv/dirt bike hot boys, but they're really everywhere and constant in Philly. PA politics are also pretty gross. It's gritty AF I still love Philly but Boston has more opportunities for my work and definitely better schools for my kids.

Weird comparison. Relatively speaking, compared to Philly, Boston is up there in the nice category with the counter workers at chick-fil-a.

I mean I think there’s a difference between ‘kind’, which Boston is not, and ‘nice’. Boston is a city full of people who I feel support each other. For example, I left my phone on the green line on accident a few months back. My friend who was with me called it, a man answered. He got off the next stop and met us there and gave it back - I offered to pay, but he didn’t want anything.

Did I get extremely lucky? Yes, but I also feel like this is something that would be much less likely to happen in other cities in the US.
