My parents were so excited when I got my license so that I could drop them off at Blobs where they would do back to back shots of Jaeger, get completely shitfaced, and then I'd have to go pick them up after.

THIS. Being my parents DD to/from Blobs on any given school night. When I started ballroom dancing in college, they started bringing my dance partner and me out to Blobs with them to cut a rug. What a gem that place was!

Yes omg. When I was 22, I was dating a guy and he took me to Blob’s park for a birthday. First time there for me, was surprised by all the polka dancing. One guy was dancing SO hard, I saw him run into the bathroom, drenched in sweat, and he came out with a new shirt on and picked up dancing right where he left off. Dude came PREPARED.

I loved Blob’s Park! I think the family that owned it now owns the Bavarian Brauhaus in Hanover but I’ve never been; seems like a more typical sit-down restaurant.

You're correct, I believe it was the son who started the Brauhaus. It's is a sit down restaurant and bar. I haven't been in awhile but they used to have live music on occasion. Their beer selection was great and the food was also pretty good. I'd recommend it if you're in the area.

Been there? Hell yes! Remember it? Nope! Always got totally hammered, can't remember anything about it other than it was a great time had by all!

It’s a church surrounded by townhouse subdivisions now. The road is still called Max Blob’s Park Rd though.

I have a core memory of being there around the time Kurt Cobain died and my brother telling me what su*cide was. I would’ve been 5-6 🥲

I worked at ft Meade when they were open, went out for many social events there. Great polka. I miss it, and the people I worked with then.

Back in the early 2000s my boss had hired a sub contractor to do some specialty electrical work, with us in Balt. He was from the Czec Republic, but was living in Chicago. He loved it. I think he found some people who he could speak to in his language.
