Definitely check out Have Fun Be Lucky in Hampden. They have 5 or so incredible artists with pretty unique styles. I’ve worked with three of them so far (Anastasia, Paul, and Joe) and each of them have done outstanding work on me. Couldn’t speak more highly of that shop

Gina Takaoka in Mt Washington.

Have had 5 b/w tattoos by her. Very good at fine line. Amazing straight lines

Huge vouch for Athens tattoo even if it's a little far out there. OP - their studio is amazing (and huge) and they have a ton of fantastic artists.

I have had loads of work done at Saints and Sinners in Fells. They also try to pair you with an artist who specializes in the kind of tattoo you are looking to get. Added benefit: you can hit up Sound Garden before/after

I highly recommend Black Lotus Tattoos. They’ve got different people for different styles.

Idk what style you're going for, but my artist is Inky McStapleface with Forevermore Tattoo in Catonsville, MD. She works with two other artists if her style isn't your thing. But she's fair and honest about pricing, time, placement, etc.
