Mt Vernon marketplace used to do a Mardi Gras party with a brass band and drinks and vendors doing versions of MG food, at least muffulettas. Not sure if they still do.

Baltimore Seafood in Canton does a good Louisiana style boil in my opinion. Went to New Orleans a few years ago and loved loved loved the boils. Went to Hook n Reel which is a chain around here and was not impressed.

I can’t vouch for the quality as I’m from here, not the south, but Baltimore Seafood (yes that is the name of the restaurant) in canton does Cajun style seafood boils!

NBS in Linthicum off Dorsey rd has crawfish with spice packets. They've got gator and boudin too.

Always enjoyed myself going there and definitely scratched that itch I had after visiting New Orleans.

Now if I could only find a place that does a roast beef pohboy. We've had pohboys in Baltimore for forever but it's always seafood. In New Orleans I had a roast beef pohboy every day I was there it was so good and on almost every casual places menu I went to down there. Never would have guessed it was such a staple.

Oh man I hope you have eaten the roast beef ‘debris’ po boy.

It’s the crispy bits that fall into the gravy after cooking a roast beef. I miss it so much!

A critical component is NOLA specific Leidenheimer bread!

Haven't found a decent place myself, but as an old Tulanian, I'll wish you a Happy Mardi Gras as I sit here listening to Dr. John after a delicious shrimp étouffée dinner and homemade King Cake...

I made a great pot of gumbo this weekend. I’m a Houstonian transplant and miss Cajun food so badly. The Wegmans in Columbia had king cakes too

For Cajun bar food and crawfish I love the Boot in the heights. I think Calliope’s is the best po boy. For a nicer dinner Brennans, which is the same family as Commanders Palace in New Orleans.

But the real houston speciality is Viet-Cajun. For that Crawfish & Noodles is my favorite.
