Corgi inadequate. Banana required.

We will also accept a banana squeek toy, in lieu of an actual banana.

Yes, preferably a plantain.

Also, fun fact, did you know that "plantain" in Spanish is "platano macho"? In other words, "macho banana!" So funny to me.

Corgis should always be included as scales from now on. You made my day!

I saw a comment the other day that was measuring in corgi. It something along the lines of, “oh yeah, it’s about 1.5 corgis.” Haha

Yay corgi with its tail still attached

EDIT: Yes, Pembroke tails are very much docked. Here's the AKC breed standard. Search for "Tail - Docked" for confirmation.

AndrewMantis t1_jegdulz wrote

Pembroke welsh corgis have no tail. They're not docked, it happens naturally. Cardigan welsh corgis have a tail. They are two separate dog breeds.

Previous_Raisin5568 t1_jegevbo wrote

Completely untrue on every single level. Pembrokes are docked. I owned one.

You're literally commenting on a photo of an undocked Pembroke lol seriously did you put any thought into this at all

Here's confirmation if you really need it since you apparently didn't even google a basic fact before barfing nonsense into a reply: https://stumpsandrumps.com/corgi-tails/

Depressedbabee t1_jeglfq9 wrote

That is the first time I have seen undocked corgis. Omg why are they docked? 😭 Their tails are so beautiful.

I think it originated as a safety thing, since corgis are herding dogs—but your average corgi is a pampered house pet and not working the stables anymore, so the breed standard is a little outdated and (imo) cruel.

Previous_Raisin5568 t1_jegll3u wrote

I know. The breeder I got mine from (first dog, only do rescues now) said his was NOT docked but when we got there, it was docked. Was bummed, but obviously I wasn't letting that cutie go.

ACHONDROPLASIA is dwarfism. Chondrodysplasia is a severe birth defect affecting bone ossification and your dog would be crippled if it had that.

The corgi is for more than scale 😜😍

corgis also have achondroplasia, part of their race characteristics, and dachshunds too.

I had a half Basset, half Australian Shepherd. I used to tell people he was half pig and they’d do the weirdest double take.

Ah yes here in America we measure not in meters and kilometers, but corgi and pit bulls. All jokes aside your dog is very cute

Idk why but "corgi for scale" makes me laugh 😂. I'm imagining corgis as a unit of measurement now.

Valuable-Banana96 t1_jeh18hd wrote

So what's the difference between this and a breed that's supposed to look that way?

random420x2 t1_jeh37fg wrote

Well, goddammit. Does the Corgi know he's only in the home to provide perspective? Sad life. gif

IIRC, dachshunds have chondrodysasia which explains why their legs are so small.

kwakimaki t1_jegbeoo wrote

Sorry but those front legs ain't right on either. If they aren't in pain now they will be in future.

−3

AndrewMantis t1_jege4tj wrote

Looking at your Dalmatian , I am pretty sure thats a Dalmatian/corgi mix. The dalmatian front feet are standing at 10/2 which is the same pose cardigan corgis stand at. Dalmatians dont stand like that.
