Basically that. I'm in my early 40s and many, many years ago we used to play Rifts, so I have some experience in the space, and I could use a new hobby. If you could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

That's Entertainment would be a good place to start. I believe they have weekly open D&D games.

If you find it difficult to meet up in person, there's always Roll20 and a few other online platforms. I believe there's also subs dedicated to finding other players in your area. And, of course, That's E!

That's E! is a great place to start. Redemption Rock hosts a convention night 1/month that offers an opportunity to connect with the community, as well as play some D&D or other TTRPGs. If you're interested, I can pass along the Discord. Part of the goal of the convention night and Discord is to bring the community together so folks can spin off their own games.

There Is a very active DnD league at TJs Cafe and games in Franklin. Hope to see you there! It's on Saturday nights. I play a Goliath Sorcerer who loves cooking

A league doesn't have any special mechanics. It's just a meet up event. There are several DMs and when you join the league, you also join one of their tables. I play on one table and we keep our own schedule
