Where is there not a burn ban right now?

I thought the same and checked the State Park website. Looks like they allow fires with in formal campsite fire rings.

www.parks.wa.gov/AlertCenter.aspx?AID=1187 looks like fire pits are ok there.

Yet this says burn bans are in effect. https://ecology.wa.gov/Air-Climate/Air-quality/Smoke-fire/Burn-bans

You're probably OK, but ask the campground attendant when you check-in to be sure though.

I camped a week ago and there was no burn ban. We kept the fire small though.

Gas stations with mini marts. Often at grocery stores as well. You'll also see honor sheds along the road with bundles for 5 or 6 bucks. The Exxon in Coupville probably, or the Red Apple Market.

Grocery Outlet for $3.99 the best fucking deal around

If you just want a little wood check with the park or campground - many sell it for cheap, although some might have stopped now that it's so late in the season.

Also take a look on your local FB marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist. Bulletin boards at feed stores are good too.

There is usually wood for sale at hwy 20 and Race rd. Also I think most grocery stores sells bundles good enough for an evening campfire. No burn ban as of now.

Winco.

Don't know why people downvoted you, but Winco does have wood bundles and so does Lowes. We always get it before we go so we're not hunting for it when we get there.

RomaDowneyJR t1_ire99lb wrote

Thank you! Actually Winco in Edmonds has the wood bundles a little under $5 right now. Not a bad price considering the economy. We use a few every Winter in our insert. Wife loves a good fire.

There are different agencies issuing bans and it is very confusing. SWCAA has a burn ban in effect, NWCAA has both messages saying burn ban in effect, and burn ban lifted scrolling on their site with no dates.

Alright. I'll ask at the gate when checking in what they say.

Hello, I love camping with a real fire but so many places in the woods don't let you have a real fire.

I go out into the woods and cut my own.

The dude is going camping at Fort Casey, there's nowhere anywhere near or on the way to cut wood. Suggesting going and cutting your own in this case isn't helpful, nor their condescending tone. And as you say "buy where you burn".

I suppose that's why it was downvoted.

I guess they like paying and not doing any work.
Lots of downed limbs and the wind blows over trees all the time.
I NEVER EVER cut down living trees.

Plus.. wood is FAR too damn expensive. $6 - $8 for a small bundle of wood that will be gone in no time.
More so with the sun going down sooner now.
