Sure, this was taken near Panorama Point, which is the high point of the Skyline Trail in Mount Rainier National Park. It's a beautiful loop trail that starts from the Paradise area and is the most popular hike in the park. The distant volcano is Mount Adams and the taller of the double peaks poking out of the clouds is Unicorn Peak.

I did the skyline this summer and I couldn’t even imagine bringing my 5 year old and they had a straight toddler. Respect.

If they went when you don’t have to trek over snow it wouldn’t be too bad but only if you have a hiking backpack for them. At the toddlers size it wouldn’t feel much different than a night pack with a bladder in there. Also toddler temperament dependent lol. Mine won’t last longer than 3 miles just yet because he wants to crawl but I’d rather him not eat every single bug on the ground.

When we did the Copper Ridge Loop in North Cascades NP in '17, a dad with two small kids, age 6 and 7, kept pace with us for 3 days. The loop is 34 miles with 8,600ft elevation gain. The kids carried packs, too, but only like their sleep bag and clothes. Respect.

It was such a heartwarming joy to see the kids completely engaged in the experience. When they got to camp, they'd wander off and play amongst the rocks and streams while Dad set up the tent and started dinner. No concerns for anything but being in the moment; no helicopter parenting, just letting kids be kids. We're lucky to live in a state that has comparatively few hazards such as snakes, poisonous spiders, and aggressive megafauna. Sure, there are cougars, but they're uncommon in many areas of the state and very, very rarely attack humans.

I was just visiting a friends house and they this picture hanging up and I was wondering if anyone knows where it might have been taken, the picture was taken about 17 years ago and all we know is it was taken in Washington state
