Luxury Apartments in Stamford

First, thanks in advance for your help. I wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on the best, luxury apartments in Stamford. I saw Harbor Point, and I like the area and like the fact it’s on the water. I have heard bad things about the management company and know they have run most of the buildings in that area.

Can someone kindly suggest the best luxury apartment building from their experience?

Also, I am moving from Williamsburg. I plan to buy a car and drive to the city four days a week. I generally will leave at 5AM from Stamford. Is this doable/will this commute be hard if I leave at 5AM and won’t be back till 9/10PM most nights.

none of the apartments are actually luxury. they are just decorated with cheap materials to make them look luxury

If you want a real luxury apartment, live in Highgrove. Harbor Point is a luxurious college dorm.

The townhouses are good but definitely see them in person first. They are about a foot off the sidewalk with floor to ceiling windows so you get no privacy or need to keep your blinds closed 24/7.

The 6th floor lofted apartments are great though if you want more space, but they are still overpriced.

I liked living at elementone! The townhouses are expensive and really hard to get though so don’t bank on that

I live in a BLT owned building in harbor point and don’t have any bad things to say about it. Our dishwasher was acting up when we first moved in and they replaced it no problem the very next day. The building and its shared spaces are well maintained. Yeah the rents a little higher than I would prefer, but I love having a garage, pool and gym are onsite. Apartment is spacious and we love our balcony in the summer. They also have a nice deck with grills and fire pits we use all year round.

There’s quite a few buildings you can research- some are definitely nicer (and therefore more expensive) than others. I would check out their website and look into a tour. Chances are a leasing agent will be able to speak more to each one and direct you to the building that matches up with your preferences.

One piece of advice- make sure you ask about fees. Rent may be $3500/month for an apartment, but with amenity, parking, trash, etc fees, it’ll be like an extra $250/month. Just something to consider if you have a budget in mind!

I will third the sentiment that these aren’t luxury. They’re cheaply constructed. The building I’m in is flimsy, has constant maintenance problems, and is LOUD. I call it lipstick on a pig. It’s also the most I’ve ever paid for rent in my entire life, with the least in return for my money.

Edit to add: Do not drive to the city. Ride the train. You will also have to pay a hefty amount to park your car at a complex.

Hi! So I don’t live in Harbor Point so I can’t comment on the buildings, but I can say that you shouldn’t have too much traffic leaving at those hours. Those are definitely tough hours just to be up and doing 4 days a week but I drive to the city from Stamford 2-3 days a week and I find it very doable early AM / late evening so I’m sure you’ll be ok!

I'd second the sentiment of the faux-luxury stuff in Stamford. Can't speak for all of them, but Arrive's apartments are just as nice as the luxury buildings downtown at a much better value. Had a great experience here so far.

I second this. I looked into harbor points apartments before moving to Stamford and thought Arrive was just as nice and slightly better price. Haven’t had any issues here. I also drive to the city and those time should be fine, but I personally try to get the train as I find it to be less stressful depending how far in the city you’re going.

Luxury, lol. All of the new apartment buildings constructed over the years in Stamford are built amusingly cheap.

Don’t listen to all the bad things people say about BLT. I’ve had a good experience so far. Of course they will jack up your rent year after year so it is what it is. If you can afford it, you’ll like it.

Driving to the city at any time is generally discouraged, but with your times it isnt likely that bad. Id consider the train if its a possibility.
