Players Lights and Labatt? Where else? 😁

Is there a pack of Players Lights somewhere I’m missing?

Or is it just based on the white cigarette filter? Can we even make out the filter here?

You're missing the title of the post.

4

DL_22 t1_iugs80k wrote

Yeah I see that, just not understanding why OP is saying Players Light.

No. In 1990 it was 5.0 mustang. I bought it a few years later for dirt cheap I think. They were cheap and they were everywhere

I miss smoking. Too bad we never can again.

18

Gustopherus-the-2nd t1_iufs9v8 wrote

Sure you can. Nothing has changed with it from then to now. It’s just whatever risk you’re willing to accept. Some people smoke until they are dead at 95yo, some get cancer and die at 40.

2

Whateveryousaydude7 t1_iuftl8w wrote

It took a lot to finally quit. I don’t want to go through that again. First off I gained 12 pounds immediately and THAT took ages to lose.

I smoked from 14-45. That was enough.

Gustopherus-the-2nd t1_iug8t8y wrote

I hear ya, my problem is fast food. My choices are… poor, lol

1

Whateveryousaydude7 t1_iug9ncj wrote

Yeah. I also gave that up ages ago. Not because I’m some douchey dick who is above it, I just don’t think it tastes good anymore. When you quit it? It really tastes bad if you get some.

I only like my own food anymore. I think having Covid also changed my ability to smell and my taste buds. I always taste the packaging and the rancid grease on restaurant food now.

Mr_MtTikiSoakie92 t1_iufs84e wrote

Same lol we’ll you still can, they haven’t taken it totally away from us. But Never say never lol back then it was crazy to think of not smoking in bars and restaurants. Who knows how things will be in another 30 years or so.

I can totally see smoking coming back in style as a finger to societal norms of not smoking. The pendulum always swings.

Whateveryousaydude7 t1_iuftpip wrote

It reeks and they are 10 dollars a pack where I live. I’ll pass.

I’m not saying for you to I’m just saying you never know how society turns out

$10 a pack. That’s cute.

A pack of 50s will cost over $50 in Australia

2

Whateveryousaydude7 t1_iug3tou wrote

Well yes. I am remarkably cute.

I don’t live in Australia. In the part of the world I reside in they are 10 dollars with tax.

I don’t know. I barely think of my old habit anymore.

I’ve always thought this too. People forget there was a lot of smoking bans in the early 1900s. Look what happened after WW1.

Dude you’re old. I’m old too. I remember smoking sections in restaurants and smoking in the pubs when I was younger. It’s probably better the way it is now, even if you miss it. Old school to some is only 5 yrs ago. To me it’s 10 years and older

God. Used to smoke those. They were flavourful as far as cigarettes go, and I liked them because the filter paper was white instead of yellow (unlike DuMaurier for example).

Labatt Genuine Draft no less! The first beer I ever got drunk on. Was working at a bar when they came out with it, but was only 18. Got invited to a launch party in London ON, took a limo with other staff, worried I wouldn’t get in…walked up to bouncer, 30yr old waitress turned and gave me her ticket, and when the bouncer asked for it, she said, “Oh my husband has it”. Handed over 2 tix, drank 12 beers, passed out on a donut at Tim’s around 2:30am…good times!
