Hey Phil, simple question. Which dinosaur is best, or at least what are your favorites?

Hi Phil, love your work! How was the transition from VFX to directing? How much of an overlap there was (if any) between the two disciplines?

Hi Phil! Thanks for taking questions. Having spent so much time on Mad God, how do you feel now that it's out? Were you able to accomplish all that you envisioned, or is there more you would have liked to do with it?

Mad God was amazing! Are you planning on any more stop motion/claymation films?

How was the t-rex to work with? Was she a bit of a diva?

Hi Phil. What movie would be improved with dinosaurs added to it?

What softwares do you utilize in your pipeline? Any suggestions on advancing VFX the software experience for users and those interested in 3D modeling/rendering?

In your experience, are stop-motion animators more patient than everyone else?

If you really did “have one job” and it wasn’t what you were already doing what would it be?

Hey! Big fan of your work, Mad God in particular. It's a beautifully horrific piece of art and the reason I signed up for Shudder to begin with.

I'm curious what your process is for "monster making" and especially in Mad God, what kind of work goes into some of the crazier gore fx? It all looks so gnarly, and I love it lol.

Wow, hello! I actually watched Mad God last night and was blown away by it. Thank you, so much, for sharing your vision with the world.

My question is: 30 years is a tremendous amount of time to invest and this must have been a deeply personal project. Now that it's complete and available, how do you feel as a creator? Is there joy/satisfaction that a lifelong endeavor is out there in the world? Emptiness as you no longer have the production of the film as something to work toward? Other emotions?

Given that the film itself dealt so deeply with emotions surrounding creators, I figured it was a fair question. :-)

Where did the general plot idea for Mad God originate from? It's incredibly unique. I enjoyed every second of it.

Thank you for your years of great work! What scene from any movie do you think deserves more appreciation and recognition than it gets?

When I think of popular cultural work in the realm of unsettling stop-motion animation I think of you and Adam Jones' Tool music videos. Was there any time you two got together and talked about your separate work together? Also what other creators work do you think I should check out in this same creative area?

Mr. Tippet sir, do you have any words of advice for working on discipline as a creator? I find myself equally overwhelmed as I am eager to pursue my writing but have trouble balancing my job and free time, thanks!

How do you feel about practical effects/miniatures place in the future of filmmaking? Can they make a comeback?

As a fan of 80's-90's movies, I think of you as an underappreciated legend. You were responsible for or had a hand in nearly every incredible effect in those movies I know and love.

As a huge Jurassic fan, I unfortunately have to agree they made the right call to go with CG for full bodied dinosaur effects but they way the decision was made and it's personal effect on you still gripes me to this day.

That being said though, I think there's a severe lack of practical effects in modern filmmaking that contributes to modern visual effects just feeling fake. I have hopes that practical effects can make a comeback by using filming techniques that allow more close in shots and situations where it can be used rather than simply using CG because it's easier.
