me too... and you for some reason don't think we started this? please, we both had alphanumeric pagers with a very limited character space per message, and since we were charged by message... we definitely started this, the youth of today just perfected it

I don't think they were shortened because they sound better, that is what I said. They were shortened because it was easier to type. Remember having to hit a number key three times to get a "C" or an "F"?

omg that was horrible, you are correct though, we shortened them out of necessity, not out of an attempt to sound better
