The following submission statement was provided by /u/darth_nadoma:
Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory will export more than 200 thousand cars out of China in 2022. Renault and BMW are also producing electric vehicles in China for export abroad. Volkswagen will join them in 2023.
And then you’ve got the Chinese brands themselves. “SAIC saw its EV
exports jump to 78,000 vehicles in the first three quarters, mostly with
the MG brand that it acquired in 2007. Rival BYD exported 22,000
vehicles and plans to do a lot more volume in 2023 as it continues to
enter new markets. Companies including Xpeng, Nio and Great Wall also
have announced big expansion plans.

What is interesting, if China attack Taiwan, all these companies leave China or not?

I'm looking forward to not having to do a QC inspection on panel gap alignment for $60k + vehicle.

Those manufacturers better find somewhere else to manufacture the EV. If I am a CCP leader that want to conquer the world, I hostage the manufacturing, logistics, and communications so that I can counter USA and Co's influence. Bonus point I can just yoink Indonesia's civilian population, considering they hate the west, and I can just fund those kadrun the way the Taliban is funded, then bumrush the nation in the chaos.

If China actually starts a major conflict with the West all the assets of western companies will be nationalized immediately.

That's true for the model Y, still the only Tesla built in Germany, but the model 3 is still only built in China and the U.S. I'd like to see the numbers broken down between exports of the model 3 and the model Y.

The West maybe look weak, but I can see they account for that. Let's see if their caution wins against their greed. If the west greedy, it's CCP's victory. Otherwise, there's reason why the leader of first world is called "The World Police", which as much as fucked up they are, at least I don't need to worry about arbitrary lockdown.
