What time of year was this?

Around October 7... It was extremely warm about 20 degrees C. Normally it would be snowing. It was very humid so there was a lot of haze

Amazing! I visited Banff/Alberta for the first time October 29 and it was already too snowy to visit Lake Louise. I got to see Lake Moraine which I was very grateful for. Beautiful shot!

I'll say it again, in my opinion, landscape pictures should be taken in landscape mode not portrait. Still a beautiful lake and worth having a picture of it.

I agree - I have plenty of this same shot in landscape as well. They get more upvotes in vertical because everyone's looking on their phone now lol - I'll post the horizontal one in a few weeks though!

Story time because no one asked or cared:

Shortly before they closed the road this October, my SO and I scrambled Mt. Temple. So, we car camped at the Moraine Lake parking lot.

At around 1230am I was restless so took a walk up the rock pile overlooking the lake. It was a full moon, and it lit up everything. The lake, the valley of the ten peaks behind it. I was the only one there - not a soul in sight. It was one of the most beautiful sights I had ever seen. To be alone at that insanely busy lake is one thing, but to be alone in the moonlight - it was pretty special.

I know it sounds hokey, but I felt like my life was changing at that moment. That something big was happening, but not to worry too much. I couldn't really understand it at the time.

The next day as we scrambled up Mt Temple, my SO was complaining about cramps, and that her chest was super sore and tender. I found out the next weekend she is pregnant with twins lol. I don't believe in the supernatural, but that was a very weird course of emotional events. When the little gremlins are of age I'll be sure to take them hiking there.

Gotta get up to the top of beehive for the truly stunning views of the lake.
