I have gone through 3 food savers in 2 years. They aren’t cheap. Are there any other sealing machines that do the same stuff but don’t break so often?

Weston Pro. I've used them in a commercial environment, and they're built better than Food Saver.

I’m always amazed by this. I buy basic foodsavers use them every day and they’ve generally lasted me at least five years.

Did your food saver completely break or just the handle? The handle broke on mine but it still works fine I just gotta do it manually by hand which isn’t a big deal.

Nah. I plug it in but no lights or functions work. Same thing happened with the other two after a bit of use

I use the hand held food savers with the reusable bags as well as the containers. Also have the backup handheld vacuum pump for when I haven't kept the batteries charged. Been going strong for about ten years now.

I have had a nutrichef one that I got for like $50ish and it’s been kicking for about 4 years. I’m not touting it as bifl but it’s affordable and does its job

Hey Judohero - Foodsaver (a Sunbeam company) has a 5 year warranty on their appliances (info can be found on their instruction manuals right next to the troubleshooting advice), so assuming you did try taking apart the machine to fix it, they'll should replace it without much trouble at all. That being said, my experience with people who have broken appliances like that in quick succession were usually using them wrong - make sure you are not overheating the motor and are cleaning the gaskets and the drip tray. I just bought a Pump N Save and it has an option for bags and even regular zip bags. It has not electrical components. I love it.

Go to Ebay, find an original Tilia foodsaver that was made in Italy. You might need to replace the seal but parts are still available and they were made to last.

I've seen the Vacmaster VP215 chamber vacuum and it's siblings on sale several times, check pricing with your local restaurant supply store too. The models with an oil pump have a longer lifespan.

Look into a commercial vacuum sealer.
They typically range between 700-1100 but will last forever
