I usually get 5 years or more. This is one where I wish they lasted longer but it's usually the base or the armrest that goes for me, not the seat material. And they don't really seem to make a more expensive office chair that is otherwise the same as the bonded leather one. The closest leather ones I have seen were running 3,500 and weren't ergonomically the same. But that cost is like 7 replacements, which at 5 years each is 35 years to break even if nothing happens on the chair. Not sure that's going to be worth it.

Same, I’ve been able to get ~5 years from all my pleather chairs. I’ll probably have different preference in 10 years and will probably move a few times in the next 20 years. I just don’t need my chair to last that long.

I'm with you on this math, I'll use my bonded leather one as long as it lasts (5-7 years) and then buy another for $150.
