I'm feeling like an absolute idiot because I made a complete mess of the homemade dinner I cooked to impress my crush. I have had a crush on this guy for ages, and I thought that cooking for him would be the perfect way to show him how much I care. I spent days researching recipes and picking out the best ingredients.
When my crush arrived, I was so nervous that I couldn't even look him in the eye. I had cooked a dish that required a long time in the oven and I had carefully timed everything, but when I opened the oven, I realized I had burned it completely. I was so embarrassed, and I could tell my crush was trying not to laugh.
I tried to play it cool and made a joke about how I should stick to takeout, but deep down, I was mortified. My crush was a good sport about it, and we ended up ordering in, but I felt like I had let him down.
Lesson learned: I realized that cooking isn't my strong suit, but I'm grateful for a crush who can laugh at my mistakes. Next time, I'll stick to something I'm more confident in, but for now, I'll just have to accept that I'm not quite the chef I thought I was. TL;DR: Tried to impress crush with a homemade dinner, ended up burning it and ordering takeout.

Honestly sounds like the dude is a total catch if he was able to roll with it and not make you feel bad
